May 31 Hummmmmfest
at COSA; Lake Hefner, Oklahoma City (**Note- This event will not be included in the 2007
circuit scoring**) COSA always puts on a great regatta for Hummfest. Be ready to sail some super fast reaches,
and even the infamous X course. In the past there have been tons of Lasers at this event, and is always way worth the
trip. They'll run races, serve lunch, and have trophies! All you have to do is show up ready to sail! What
a great way to get the summer started!
** May 17 - Singlehand shootout! @ KSA (the new Kansas Sailing Association)
; Lawrence, KS This one day event will be a great way to kick off the season. The new facilities
are on the West side of Clinton Lake. Do a Google map search for Bloomington Beach- it's right there. This
promises to be a great time, with Lasers and Finns coming out of the woodwork to come sail. Lots of starts, lots of
shorter races and some other fun stuff. Also, Lawrence is only 5 miles from the lake, and makes for a great night of
fun if you plan to travel back on Sunday. RSVP to Tim Fitzgerald- Timfitz@cox.net
** June 21-22 Lighthouse Charity Regatta Oklahoma City Boat Club. Lake Hefner, Oklahona City. The Oklahoma
City Boat Club would like to invite you to attend the seventh annual Lighthouse Charity Regatta on June 15th, 16th, and 17th 2007 (Centerboards & Youth); June 22nd, 23rd, and 24th 2007 (Keelboats). This
year's regatta is designed for the "traveling racer." We will be having a dinner on Friday night while racers set up and sign
in. Racing will get underway early Saturday and Sunday mornings to get in maximum racing. Saturday night there
will be a great party with a band and an auction with tons of great stuff. Make plans now! NOR Last year brought boats from Kansas, Texas, and Colorado. Make sure to get there for a great regatta!
** July 19-20 Whitecap
(for the Robert F. Bennet Governor's cup) NSA Cheney Lake www.ninnescah.org Cheney puts on an excellent annual Whitecap Regatta which they always do a great job
with. Many of you have been to Cheney for events in the past few years and know about this great facility. It
is one of the best sailing venues in the midwest, and there is enough beach space for you, and all of the sailors you bring
with you to the event! At this regatta, they will also have other sailboat fleets. Of course we will have our
own start! The winner of the fleet with the most boats is awarded the Robert F. Bennet perpetual Governor's Cup, which
was given to the sunfish fleet last year. They got us by only ONE boat! What a great reason to bring as many sailors
with as you can and make this a great big event!
** August 23, Walnut Valley Sailing Club; El Dorado, KS www.wvsailing.com Last year WVSC showed us what a great
regatta they could put on for us. Sailors came en mass from Kansas City and everyone enjoyed the great meals the club
provided. Exceptional trophies, and some great courses (see "downwind start") rounded out a first rate regatta. This
year the format has been altered to a single day to encourage travel. With last year as an example, this will be one
of the most fun regattas of the season. Downwind starts, screamin- reach downwinds, and center course gates are just
some of the fun that you will have there!
** Aug 31- Sept 1 '08 C.O.R.N. (District
Championships) NSA Wichita Cheney Lake
www.ninnescah.org The C.O.R.N. Regatta at Cheney is a great event that our Laser fleet has been invited to for many years. This
year features FIREWORKS on Saturday night so that you will see them! ALSO-- There will be a pig roasted for dinner!
This is sure to be an exceptionally great event for the Laser fleet! At Cheney, you can camp out right on
site which is a great way to do it. This event has given us everything from light air to super-windy survival days
making sure you'll always have some great stories to take with you to the cold months. What a great way to end
the summer!
